North Pointe Psychiatry is a behavioral health clinic under the direction of Dr. Asad Islam. It is our goal to provide thoughtful, competent, compassionate and thorough psychiatric evaluation and continuing care in a confidential and respectful environment.
Both inpatient and outpatient treatment is available.

Dr. Islam is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with additional Certification and Training in Geriatric Psychiatry with 20+ years of experience. Dr. Islam completed his Psychiatry Residency Training at Columbia University affiliated Harlem Hospital Center, NY. He was appointed as Chief Resident on his final year of training. After completion of adult residency, Dr. Islam completed Fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry at University of Medicine and Dentistry -Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, NJ. He is experienced in performing the electro-convulsive treatment (ECT) for medication-resistant depression and psychosis. He is also certified for office-based Suboxone treatment for opiate dependency.
Dr. Islam currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at Mayhill Hospital, Denton, TX since 2011. In the past, Dr. Islam has served as a Program Director of adult outpatient services at University Behavioral Health at Denton, Texas and has worked at various psychiatric facilities in Texas, NJ, and NY.
Dr. Islam is skilled in compassionate care and ability to heal a vast population of people that struggle with mental illness.
Dr. Murad is a board-certified psychiatrist devoted to providing exceptional care for his patients. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, followed by a general psychiatry residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Specializing in medication management, he approaches mental health with a holistic perspective, recognizing the importance of addressing physical, psychological, and social aspects of well-being. Dr. Murad acknowledges the unique needs of each individual and employs a collaborative approach to treatment. He believes in actively involving patients in decision-making, fostering a supportive and empowering therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Murad is passionate about facilitating access to the full scope of psychiatric treatment, including Spravato, TMS, and ECT when indicated. He is equally committed to preventing harm, advocating for careful medication selection and judicious use to avoid excessive doses and side effects. Anita Thomas joined North Pointe Psychiatry in 2014. She is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner at North Pointe Psychiatry and works at both Lewisville and Denton locations. Anita graduated from a Masters of Science program in Nursing specializing in Psychiatry from UTA College of Nursing, Arlington in 2014. She has been practicing for the last 5 yrs in Outpatient Psychiatry and has almost 20 yrs of diverse experience as an RN. She is also certified for office-based Suboxone treatment for opiate dependence disorder.

Marian Fabyan joined North Pointe Psychiatry in 2014. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner at North Pointe Psychiatry, Denton. She graduated from a Master’s Program at UTA College of Nursing, Arlington, Texas in 2014 specializing in Psychiatry/Mental Health. She has 5 years’ experience as a Practicing Mental Nurse Practitioner and 15+ years of diverse experience as a Registered Nurse.
Patients consult with her on a daily basis for initial assessments, follow up visits to monitor progress and where necessary, make changes to patient’s treatment medication. She is also certified for office-based Suboxone treatment for opiate dependency.
Michael Seifu joined North Point Psychiatry in December 2018. He completed his certification program in Texas from Midwestern State University (MSU). He currently works for another practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in a fast-paced emergency department and has been working as an FNP in various roles since 2014 after graduating from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. Using his graduate business degree (MBA) and nursing license, he also worked in various healthcare leadership roles from 2005 to 2014 for several hospitals and healthcare organizations. Furthermore, he functioned in the D/FW area for many years as a 911 paramedic in the early years of my clinical career. Michael has a diverse background in business, information technology, and clinical practice.
As a hobby, Michael continues to read a lot on the topic of integration and collaboration of information technology and healthcare in the form of e-books (little time to read so I listen to my books). He loves spending time with his son and family and continues to teach nurses and patients.
Rauvi Blackwell graduated from Midwestern State University in 2016 and earned a Master of Science in Nursing - Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Rauvi is Board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Rauvi Blackwell has 3+ year experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings. She also provides services at Mayhill Hospital Adult and Geriatric psychiatry units, Partial Hospital Program and Intensive Out-Patient Program. She is experienced in treating adolescents and adults with various mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She practices in collaboration with the physician to assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders. She enjoys spending time with her family and visiting new places in her spare time.
Shelly Sanders is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner practicing at North Pointe Psychiatry in Lewisville. She graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatry from Walden State University. Shelly has an extensive background in acute care with eight plus years of experience, three of those years she specialized in neurology. As a PMHNP, she is dedicated to helping improve the mental health and well being of all her patients.
In her spare time Shelly loves to spend her days with her family, friends, and chasing after her two dogs. She also loves reading, movies, and traveling.
Nikki graduated from Walden University where she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. She is board certified as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She practices at Northpointe Psychiatry in the Denton, Lewisville, and Flower Mound locations. She also provides inpatient mental health services at Mayhill Hospital for the Adult and Geriatric populations. She has 12 years of experience as a Registered Nurse including 3 years in behavioral health. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, her goal is to provide a service that maximizes your mental capacity so that you function at your greatest ability.
In her spare time she enjoys being surrounded by family and friends and traveling back home to her Mississippi roots.
Bret M. Menassa is a Licensed Professional Counselor, psychotherapist, and board-approved clinical supervisor. Before joining North Pointe Psychiatry, Bret was the Director of Clinical Services at Mayhill Hospital in Denton, and a clinician in the department of Psychiatry at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas.
Bret has counseled adults, couples, families, and adolescents facing difficulties with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, and other mental and emotional health issues affecting relationships, work, and family. Bret received both his Master’s and his Doctoral degrees in counseling at the University of North Texas and has been an adjunct professor of counseling at both UNT and SMU since 2006. Bret believes that emotional well-being is a lifelong process of personal growth, and is confident that counseling can help people live fuller, more satisfying lives.
Chad Bost is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR.) He graduated with his Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. Before joining North Pointe Psychiatry, Chad was an Inpatient Therapist at Mayhill Hospital in Denton. He also worked as an Outpatient Therapist with Connections Wellness Group in Denton.
Chad has counseled adults and adolescents experiencing a range of issues associated with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, eating disorders, relationship problems and others. Chad believes in utilizing an integrative approach, often including a range of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with a masters in Counseling and Development from Texas Women's University. I have worked with a variety of clients including those in crisis, depression, anxiety, mood issues, and general trauma. I love to work with young adults and teens, specifically those who enjoy a more direct approach, with a twist of humor and sarcasm. I have also worked with fostering, adopted, and in state custody adolescents. I have special training in substance use, incarcerations, rehabilitation, and veterans in the court system.
As a Solution Focused Therapist (SFT) I aim to create realistic goals for us both to open, work on, and achieve through out the therapeutic process. I also draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and use CBT techniques to address someone's needs by encouraging positive self-thoughts and reframing.The counseling journey can be really tough, and it's important you find the right fit. I enjoy learning about each client individually, while empowering change within. I am here to provide support through compassion and empathy each step of the way!
Sara Salinas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She graduated with her Master's of Social Work at the University of Denton in 2019 after obtaining a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Economics. Sara has an extensive history of working in the Admissions Department in inpatient mental health hospitals with patients ranging in age from pediatrics to geriatrics. She has provided therapy to adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma. Sara believes during therapy, by listening and with discussion, can assist others face the challenges of life.
